The Act limits the sum that can be spent to $20,000. Candidates are advised to take careful note of the qualifications on spending in s.24 of the Act, particularly time periods prior to the election.
They should also ensure they are fully familiar with s.21 (Bribery), s.22 (Threats) and s.23 (General Offences) of the Act in respect of spending.
