Parliamentary General Elections shall be held every 4 years by popular ballot in which all persons qualified to vote shall take part. Elections shall be held in the constituencies, and electors of each town and constituency shall vote for their respective representative.

The date for the election will be confirmed by the writs of elections which will be issued by His Majesty the King, on the advice of the Prime Minister no later than 8 weeks before the election. The writs should include the date on which the election shall be held, places at which the Commission shall receive the votes of electors as well as the date on or before which each writ is returnable to the King, advising the result of the election.

The Electoral Commission shall notify the actual date of election by notice published in the Gazette. Provided always that this date may be varied by the Commission in circumstances which they consider warrant such a change: e.g. natural disaster.
