(Part III, s.16 of the Act)
Upon the completion of the poll, the Officer in charge of each Polling Station will open the ballot box and count the votes. The papers will be counted by candidate and at the end of the count the Officer in charge will announce provisionally the number of votes received by each candidate for that station, together with any votes that are void. The result from each polling station is transmitted to the Returning Officer for verification, compiles the result and forwards it to the Supervisor of Elections.
