Retirement of Supervisor of Elections

The Electoral Commission announces the retirement of the Supervisor of Elections, Mr. Pita Vuki, effective 6 January 2026. Mr. Vuki concludes a distinguished career spanning more than 28 years of service within the Government and the Electoral Commission.

Throughout his tenure, Mr. Vuki has exemplified integrity, dedication, and professionalism, guiding the electoral process with wisdom and impartiality. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring that elections in the Kingdom of Tonga are conducted with fairness, transparency, and credibility.

The Electoral Commission is currently undertaking the recruitment process to appoint a substantive successor to the role of Supervisor of Elections.

The Commission wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Vuki for his invaluable contributions and wish him a happy and fulfilling retirement.
